Professor Bakardzhieva’s Global Policy and Sustainability class attended the first day of the 11th international annual forum of the Convention of Independent Financial Advisors (CIFA) held at Monaco’s Sporting d’Hiver.
The Master in International Management students and their professor listened to the opening speeches and were particularly glad to hear the reference to the University made by Monaco’s Minister of Finance and Economy, H.E. Jean Castellini, who noted IUM’s collaboration with the Principality’s financial authorities in designing the future professional certification of the financial industry employees.
Next, they attended the first round table on the theme set by ECOSOC: “Science, Technology and Innovation and the potential of Culture for promoting sustainable development and achieving the MDGs”. The speakers representing different international organizations and gave their own perspectives on sustainable development and the role of the financial industry in fulfilling the Millennium Development Goals, and also gave practical examples from their experience on possible solutions for eradicating extreme poverty, achieving universal primary education and empowering women.
The Master in International Management program equips graduates with a valuable expertise in management, also providing them a substantive awareness on major global policy issues, which will enable them to follow a career in many sectors: international business, international organizations, press, foundations, but also NGOs, governmental agencies, etc.
This program is interdisciplinary and attracts students with very different backgrounds: business, political science, history, economics, etc. which turns the classroom into a very enriching place.
The choice of electives at the end of the last term enables students to focus on an area in which they express an interest.
