ORGANIZATION

The International University of Monaco (IUM) is a private institution of higher education founded in 1986 in the Principality of Monaco.

Since 2010 IUM has been part of Groupe INSEEC, which later evolved into OMNES Education, one of the largest French-based educational institutions. IUM has been granted a license to deliver diplomas by the Government of Monaco.

It offers degree programs at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels. The Government of Monaco recognizes IUM diplomas (latest renewal Ministerial Act n. 2018-300 of 4 April 2018).

The School is governed by a Board of Directors chaired by Distinguished Emeritus Professor Bernard Ramanantsoa, former Dean of HEC Paris between 1996 and 2015. The Board of Directors benefits of the advice of an International Advisory Board, chaired by Pierre André Chiappori (E. Rowan and Barbara Steinschneider Professor of Economics, Columbia University, New York) on strategic matters, and of the Scientific Council, chaired by Michel Pham (Professor of Marketing at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York) on the School’s scientific development.

IUM’s General Director/Dean sits on the Board of Directors and has deputy administrator authority. He is responsible for the execution of the strategic plan approved by the Board of Directors. In this task, he is assisted by the Executive Committee, which includes the Vice Dean, the Director of Undergraduate Program and Operations, the Director of Corporate Relations, the Director of Research, and one Department Head.

The faculty is organized in three Academic Departments (Economics and Finance, Marketing and Communication, Strategy and Management) and is placed under the General Director/Dean’s direct supervision.

The Vice Dean has the responsibility of Academic Quality, Processes, and Accreditation. The Director of Corporate Relations also oversees career services and alumni relations.

The General Director supervises the support functions (marketing and recruitment, corporate relations and career services, alumni relations, human resource management, operations and IT, accounting, and finance).

By taking advantage of the unique features of its location, IUM provides a learning environment that combines the benefits of small size with connections to the global world, international diversity, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

True to its Latin motto – SEMPER AD ALTUM –IUM has always pursued a strategy of excellence. International accreditation by leading accrediting bodies such as AACSB International and the Association of MBAs (AMBA) is, of course, at the heart of this strategy. But recognition also comes in other forms; for example, IUM appears regularly in prestigious international rankings such as The Economist Which MBA? Top 100, or CNN-Expansión Global MBA ranking. Offering better and better educational programs and anticipating job market needs remains our primary drive!
