Experiential education and commitment to train the future generation

For a business school, redesigning and adjusting its training programs to meet the employment market’s rapidly evolving needs when it comes to new recruits is an ongoing challenge. It requires discussions, initiatives and a shared vision with key players in each industry. This approach is at the core of the International University of Monaco’s strategy.

Learning from Monaco

Thanks to our applied and “real world” approach to management education, and our symbiotic relationship with the Principality, you will thus enjoy two campuses: the International University of Monaco, and Monaco itself. You’ll learn not only the kinds of skills any university programs should be able to offer, but also build on and benefit from the insights, best practices and networks unique to studying in Monaco.

To this end, IUM has close links with international corporations and organizations such as the Oceanographic Museum, MonacoTech, Monaco ImpactSBM Monte-Carlo, Monaco Mediax (Sportel), Rolex Tennis Master Monaco, Barclays Wealth Management Monaco, Prince Albert II of Monaco FoundationAutomobile Club de Monaco (Formula 1 Grand Prix) to name a few.

As part of their curriculum, students participate actively to events on different levels, are part of brainstorming session about opportunities and possible developments of companies or events and do market research on (new) international players of certain industries.

IUM is also integrally involved in a variety of new initiatives and think-tanks as well. As one example, we have an agreement with the recently established Monaco Yachting Cluster whose aim is to help position Monaco as a center of excellence in the global yachting market. Our students are able to participate in a number of activities related to this and related goals positioning Monaco in the vanguard of new ideas and business models.

Learning Beyond the Classroom-Monaco

Corporate Projects, Business Plan Competition & International Events

Learning Beyond the Classroom-Monaco Symposium on LuxuryStudents can participate to the MARK CHALLENGE, a luxury business pitching competition hosted by the International University of Monaco that connects students, academic professionals, and business leaders. This competition allows for students with an entrepreneurial spirit to pitch a luxury or premium business idea to a professional panel of potential investors and community leaders.

Last but not least, students have the opportunity to attend international conferences such DAY ONE, LUXEPACK or MONACO SYMPOSIUM ON LUXURY to name a few.


Students have the opportunity to work on concrete projects, sourced by companies, and to have them actively involved in strategic decision-making and recommendations to specific corporate opportunities, challenges and issues.

Recently, students worked on the following corporate projects: Parkview Private Collection, Burberry – Shoes Division, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, Barclays Wealth Management, Fendi Casa, The Monegasque Association for Finance (AMAF), Frost & Sullivan Global Consultancy and UBS Bank, Rossinavi.

Study Trips

Every year, IUM organizes study trip to give students the opportunity to experience firsthand how companies work nowadays.

This type of study trip fulfills three main objectives:

  • offer students the opportunity of acquiring a thorough understanding of the sector;
  • further reinforce students understanding of professional expectations;
  • help students acquire a specific knowledge of the industry trends and international markets as well.
