This is one of the question, Victor Cobos, Co-founder & CEO of M&C Saatchi Sponsorship, will address to the students of the MSc in Sport Business Management

Today’s sporting events welcome people of all ages and backgrounds seeking more than just their share of action on the pitch. Crowds at the biggest sporting events are placing more value in the entertainment and pleasure they offer off the pitch, and businesses are quickly responding to this.

To shape the class to the reality of the business world, IUM invites professionals like Victor to share their insights and experience with our students.

“I can proudly say that my pathway to a successful career it is been non-conventional, despite not having an outstanding academic background. IUM students will be able to learn directly from a self-made professional and entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in the Sport & Entertainment Industry.”

M&C Saatchi Sponsorship is a new company created at the heart of M&C Saatchi’s approach ‘Brutal Simplicity of Thought’ ’ – the principle that it is far easier to complicate and much harder to simplify and the belief that simple ideas enter the brain quicker and stay there longer. By combining Brutal Simplicity with shared passion, industry insight, diversity of thought, innovation and pioneering creative, M&C Saatchi Sponsorship develop integrated campaigns which maximize further revenue streams for right holders and deliver successful innovative solutions for brands, connecting to consumers through the things people love.

Why are you teaching in addition of your very busy professional career?

The pathway to a successful and happier life is much more than money. In other words, I think when a professional reaches a certain level of success, we should embrace the responsibility of our privilege position and share our knowledge with the upcoming generations. Furthermore, working directly with Academic Institutions is undoubtedly the best way to find new talent and forthcoming leaders.

On the other hand, Sport & Entertainment Industry is constantly evolving and it is imperative to anticipate industry change before it is here, so C-Level executives and Entrepreneurs are forced to innovate and adapt permanently to remain competitive and succeed. Universities should be an essential force to feed this constant innovative entrepreneurial mindset.
