Where high-level strategy meets real-world execution

At IUM, the classroom is only the beginning. We believe that to truly master International Management, students must engage directly with the world’s most sophisticated business ecosystems. Recently, our MSc students traveled to London for a study trip that epitomizes our commitment to Experiential Learning, turning high-level theory into tangible professional insight.

Learning by Living: The IUM Philosophy

What does “International Management” look like in practice? It’s not just a set of slides; it’s a living, breathing reality. At IUM, we move beyond the traditional “case study” method. While many business schools analyze the past, our experiential model forces students to engage with the present.

This trip was designed to connect theory with practice. studied. Experiential learning turns a student into a practitioner; it’s about moving from ‘knowing’ how a business works to ‘understanding’ why it succeeds.

A Multidisciplinary Laboratory

London served as an unparalleled laboratory, offering a 360-degree view of how innovation, investment, and strategy converge.

1. The Intersection of Tech and Creative Strategy

From the digital frontiers of Meta to the strategic marketing halls of Diageo and Labelium UK, students explored how AI tools are reshaping global promotion. A highlight was the visit to the Halcyon Gallery, where the group debated the future of digital art—a perfect exercise in analyzing market disruption.

2. Infrastructure, Architecture, and Vision

The students gained unique access to world-renowned firms like Zaha Hadid Architects, Jason Bruges Studio, and WSP. Meeting with leaders like Jim Coleman allowed them to understand the management of large-scale international projects, where architectural innovation meets commercial viability.

3. Real Estate and Financial Hubs

Deep dives into DDRE Global (with Jessica Bishop and Stine Kaus) and Lloyd’s of London provided a masterclass in the UK’s dynamic real estate market and its role as a global startup and investment hub.

The Power of the IUM Network

The hallmark of a IUM education is the unique access we provide. This trip was made possible by our dedicated network of partners and alumni. Students engaged in high-level dialogues with professionals like Iola K., Mike Fairmaner, Luciano Letteriello, and Domenico Di Francesco, among many others.

Seeing our alumni thrive in London’s competitive environment serves as a powerful inspiration, showing students the concrete paths their own careers can take. We also thank Athanasios Kourniotis for his invaluable support in guiding the group throughout this journey.

Experiential learning

By exploring everything from Alanna Kit’s entrepreneurial well-being projects to the structured operations of global giants, our students returned to Monaco with a renewed perspective. They have seen that innovation thrives where there is a global network of opportunities and they are now better equipped to lead within it.

At IUM, we don’t just teach management; we prepare you to lead the global conversation. Because in the end, the most profound lessons are not read in a book, but written through the experiences you live.
