Orientation 2021: a NEW beginning!

Home » Orientation 2021: a NEW beginning!

From September 1st, the International University of Monaco welcomed its new students for the orientation week.

This Fall 2021 intake welcomed 320 new students coming from 66 different countries. Even though France, Italy are the top 2 countries, followed by Russia, Germany, Romania, USA, Monaco, UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal, Finland, and Austria, all 5 continents are represented within the new student’s body.

Thankfully, this year, IUM welcomed almost 100% of its new students on campus. For the students who could not join IUM this Fall, online sessions were organized to be part of the community despite the distance.

Thanks to our flexible learning system, IUM can adapt fast to changes. We will continue to monitor the evolution of the current situation and counting on the responsible behavior of everyone, which makes it possible to start the next academic year by taking care of everyone’s health.

Jean-Philippe Muller

IUM General Director

During this week, students had the opportunity to meet with their program directors and some key staff members. It’s a great chance to start university life with the information they need to succeed. Some professors also provide insights about specific courses and useful advice to complete their degrees.

The orientation as a whole was very valuable in informing and giving an insight into the expectations of my course. It also led to me feeling much calmer approaching my first day and allowed me to be a lot more familiar with where I had to be. Maria, American.

Orientation is also a fantastic opportunity to make some social connections with their new classmates who are studying the same degree as them and join clubs and associations.

I’m super excited! there are a lot of clubs available!

Students also discovered and enjoyed the wonders of the French Riviera thanks to the welcome beach party that took place at Naos Beach at the end of the orientation week and gather the new students and about 40 IUM Alumni. An excellent way to get to know each other before starting a new busy, and enriching academic year at IUM!

Fun friendly environment, I enjoy my day of orientation!
