On 2 February 2026, MSc in Luxury Management (Yachting Industry specialization) students from IUM took part in an educational visit to the Sanlorenzo Monaco Lounge in the Principality of Monaco. The visit was organized by Dr. Annalisa Tarquini-Poli, Program Director, as part of the program’s experiential learning approach and its strong connection with industry professionals.
The session was led by Séverine Sciortino, Head of the Sanlorenzo Monaco Lounge, who presented the history and evolution of the Sanlorenzo brand. Drawing on her professional background in the yachting sector, she highlighted the company’s long-term vision, emphasizing how trust, reputation, and client relationships are central to value creation in the luxury industry.
The Lounge Concept: Luxury as a Human Experience
Students were introduced to the concept and purpose of the Sanlorenzo Monaco Lounge, conceived as an intimate and welcoming environment dedicated to client engagement. Moving away from traditional and formal office settings, the lounge provides a space where clients can feel comfortable discussing their yacht projects.
Sanlorenzo’s use of advanced 3D rendering and visualization technologies allows clients to explore their future yachts through photorealistic images and interactive walkthroughs. This approach enables early involvement in the design process and reinforces a personalized and transparent relationship between the brand and its clients.

Brand Values, Innovation, and Professional Exchange
The visit proved to be a highly formative experience for the MSc students, who had the opportunity to connect theory with practice in a tangible way.
Nadia Grazzini, from the Sales Department at Sanlorenzo Med, shared her expertise on brand identity, values, and international positioning, but what truly enriched the session was how students engaged with her insights. They were able to translate abstract concepts into practical understanding, asking questions about sales coordination, stakeholder management, and the complexities of the superyacht market.
Students became active participants in a professional exchange, gaining exposure to the realities of luxury business practices.
One of our students shared:
The visit was incredibly insightful, providing a deeper understanding of Sanlorenzo’s heritage and how the brand has evolved over time. I am sincerely grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to learn from such an inspiring team.

Ultimately, the visit exemplified experiential learning at its best: bridging academic knowledge with professional practice and empowering students to see themselves as future contributors to the luxury sector.
