The International University of Monaco, as business schools the world over, has to continuously adapt and reassess its teaching format and content to equip and prepare a new generation of leaders to have a concrete and positive impact on the business world of tomorrow.

The current pandemic makes this only too clear. Not only is it an accelerator of the educational reengineering process both in terms of format and content, but it is also challenging the very nature of our long-standing economic systems and business models.

IUM managers and faculty have thus created a series of Webinars around these themes aimed at students and the IUM community at large.  We are pleased to extend this invitation to our Business and professional network by proposing a Webinar Series, developed by business partners, full-time and adjunct faculty, aimed at promoting a new and evolving idea of Business characterized by the human element; the search for purpose and meaning in decision-making and actions; and the critical importance of creative thinking, audacity, and lucidity in a world seemingly characterized by instability and unpredictability.

 These webinars will feature a 20-minute presentation with a 25-minute Q&A.

Webinar 1 – How to establish resilience in your investment team

⇒ On Thursday, May 7th, 2020, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm CET

“Never let a crisis go to waste.” This truism became popular again in recent weeks. Officials, experts, coaches, and alike are telling us what to do in addition to social distancing: stay calm and use the crisis as an opportunity. This is easier said than done. For us to change our behavior lastingly, certain conditions need to be met. Thus, personal resilience is not being built overnight and cannot be called without considering the context in which resilience is performed. This is equally true for investment professionals. Staying resiliently focused on most evidence-based investment decisions enables them to master challenges, setbacks, and even crises better than others—a crucial comparative advantage.

This webinar introduces you to best practices based on which professional investors can build and perform resilience individually and as a team.

Webinar 5 – The fundamental role of goal-setting in uncertain times

⇒  On Tuesday, May 19th, 2020, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm CET

Defining clear goals is an essential element of any successful plan. This becomes even more obvious in times when uncertainty dominates.

In the well-known results-driving triad GOAL>STRATEGIES>ACTION PLANS, the “Goal” element is the only one that, if correctly and clearly defined, should remain unchanged as a kind of permanent lighthouse, a compass for our daily result-oriented efforts in these highly ambiguous times, while the “Strategies” and the related “Action Plans” will necessarily need to adapt to the new challenges.

In this webinar, we will present the best practices through which you can achieve clarity about your goals. We focus on personal goals as they are the stepping-stones for individual learning paths and organizational outperformance.

Webinar 8 – How to maximize your impact on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and stay competitive

⇒  On Tuesday, May 26th, 2020, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm CET

In 2020, sustainable investing is hotter than ever topic, and finance professionals can no longer allow themselves to ignore environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues in their investment analysis and decisions. Treating your compliance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as a fig-leaf topic for marketing reasons is no longer possible.

Regulators are clear. In the years ahead, SDG compliance will not be another checklist exercise for boards, investment committees, or portfolio managers. Professional investors cannot delegate their responsibility for understanding which impact they generate to rating agencies, ESG databases, or external consultants.

Simply put, being SDG-compliant offers an opportunity for investment decision-makers to strengthen their comparative advantage through innovative specialization. In this webinar, we show you how to combine both your compliance and increasing your competitiveness.
