The International University of Monaco devotes a high priority to the intellectual contributions of its faculty.

Following IUM´s mission statement contributing to the Principality of Monaco¹s attractiveness and dynamism, IUM has become a hub for excellent research.
The IUM mission statement emphasizes the importance of research devoted to advancing and disseminating management knowledge in high-value activities.
The school aims to improve managerial practices, particularly in the luxury and financial services, through related academic publication activities and close contacts with local and international business communities, encouraging innovation, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development.
IUM research is strongly multidisciplinary. Our professors enrich their fields of expertise and the diffusion of knowledge through prominent publications, based on a wide range of perspectives, in top-ranked academic journals.
IUM faculty actively engages in international research projects and activities. The international research community recognizes the quality of IUM faculty’s intellectual contributions through their election as editors, editorial board members, guest editors, or reviewers for peer-reviewed outlets.
Besides, IUM faculty members regularly receive invitations as keynote speakers and discussants at academic and professional meetings.

The research activities also include:

  • the organization of international conferences held in Monaco, such as the Monaco Symposium on Luxury and Family Business Research Forum,
  • the organization of regular research seminars where renowned professors come to IUM, share their expertise and present their latest research, such as IUM Research Seminar Series and Fintech Talks.

As a MOC (Microeconomics of Competitiveness) affiliate institution, IUM collaborates with the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School. In 2016 Professor Böbel was appointed as co-leader of the MOC Curriculum Council.
