All enquiries regarding TOEFL testing should be addressed to ETS.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. The TOEFL is one of several standardized tests accepted at the International University of Monaco to demonstrate English proficiency. IUM students who plan to go on an exchange semester may be required to have a valid TOEFL score.
The TOEFL test is now offered as an internet-based (iBT)TOEFL which is entirely administered on a computer via the internet on fixed dates at secure test centers. The International University of Monaco is an official testing site. Please see above the testing dates available at IUM.
The test includes four sections: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. It takes about four hours to complete. Speaking fluent English is not always enough to do well. You should also become familiar with the test format. Click here to learn how to prepare.
You can take the TOEFL at the International university of Monaco, which is an official testing site. Please see above the testing dates available at IUM. The iBT TOEFL is also available at other official ETS approved test centers.
An organization called Educational Testing Services (ETS) administers the test, decides its content, and determines testing dates and times. So while you can take your TOEFL at the International University of Monaco, you must register with ETS at www.ets.org/toefl
You need to select your score recipients (designated institutions to receive your scores) during registration. You may update this information online up until 10:00 p.m. the evening before the test day. You cannot select your score recipients at the test center. A code list for colleges and universities is available during online registration. The code list for the International University of Monaco is 9074. When registering, be sure that the spelling of your name matches the name printed on the identification document(s) you will present at the test center. If this information does not match, you will not be permitted to test and your test fee will be forfeited.
Online registration requires a valid credit card (Amercian Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, or VISA).
Be sure to register early. The number of test spaces is limited. Keep in mind that it generally takes 3 weeks to receive test scores, so plan well ahead. Registration typically opens two months in advance.
