On Friday December the 4th, the International University of Monaco and the IUM Student Association were pleased to host the IUM Christmas Ball and Gala Dinner 2015 which took place at the lavish Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo. The IUM Christmas Ball illustrated the unique characteristics of the Principality by organizing a superb reception accompanied by the joyful Christmas spirit.
They say Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s not the snow, the glitter, and the presents that make it special, it’s the people. The University’s Student Association, with the invaluable support of some of the University’s staff, Mrs. Antonella Patras, Miss Marine Giannini, and Mr. Jean Philippe Muller, organized the highlight of the institution’s social event, in partnership with the TwoHelp Foundation Monaco. What a better way to celebrate the magic of winter than a glamorous charitable event in the city of refinement, prestige, and luxury?
Those who had purchased tickets to the raffle, and therefore contributed to the TwoHelp foundation and improved literacy in underdeveloped countries, were suddenly on the edge of their seats, hoping that the odds would be in their favour. Thanks to the benevolent sponsors of the IUM Christmas Ball and to the enthusiasm of the participants of the event, over four years of education has been provided for the children living in unfortunate corners of the world.
TwoHelp is a non-profit organization made by students for students with the goal of providing education for unprivileged children all over the world. The foundation was created by Carolin Bode, an IUM 2015 bachelor graduate. With the vision to help those less fortunate, TwoHelp is designed with the concept of simply donating two euros. Students can place donations in a pipe in IUM’s cafeteria where it will be collected by TwoHelp. Each pipe filled equals €900.00 which provides three years of education for one child!
During the diner, guests were also entertained by a hypnotizing magician and his bag of tricks and towards the end of the evening everyone was courageous enough to step on the dance floor and dance the night away!
“Midnight? Already? No, no! This cannot be the end! I don’t want it to end! Can someone freeze this moment in time, please? Winter was supposed to be cold… Oh… I assume I will have to wait until next year… Have yourself a merry little Christmas…”
The International University of Monaco hosts an exceptional assortment of events throughout the year, including trips to exciting cities in Europe, lively parties in Monte Carlo, and the Christmas Ball among others. If you are looking for not only a dynamic and fulfilling secondary education but to be involved in a thriving social community, join IUM today!
