Burguignon

On January 16th, students of the Master in Luxury Hospitality and Event Management at IUM had the pleasure of attending a lecture delivered by a renowned representative of the hospitality industry.

Our guest was no other than Mr. Patrick Bourguignon, former General Director of the international group Accor, which owns one of the largest groups of hotels in the world.  Mr. Bourguignon joined the group Accor in 1987 first as General Manager and then as Vice President of Novotel North America (one of the chains owned by the Accor group). He later continued his career in the company at various high level positions where he greatly contributed to its development. In 2003 he moved to the European sector of the group as General Director of the Accor group. He finished his career in the group as Senior Vice President of Accor Hotels in 2010. Nowadays Mr. Bourguignon is a highly requested hotels consultant for various firms in the world.

Thanks to his lecture our students had the opportunity of acquiring extra precious knowledge on the topic of tourism and hospitality management. Bourguignon intervention closed a cycle of seminars on the topic of hospitality management, which was preceded by speakers from Bulgari Hotels, Monte Carlo Bay as well as Meridien Hotel.

Mr. Bourguignon will be back soon with us to share more of his incredible knowledge with our students, as he will be teaching some classes at our university.
