On March 17, the chilling rainy conditions did not deter some 1,500 confirmed and amateur runners in taking over Monaco’s streets. Runners could either opt for the Riviera Classic, a 24-km run which links Ventimiglia (Italy) to Monaco, the Monaco Run, a 10-km race which goes from Fontvieille to Larvotto via port Hercule, or the Pink Ribbon walk, which is 4-km walk aimed at raising funds to fight against breast cancer.
IUM’s asphalt lovers were brilliantly represented by students, Laura HAZEN, Kathrin DRE, and Olivier DEVINCK, and professors, Frédéric PATRAS and Moïse LOUISY-LOUIS. Laura and Kathrin produced a great team performance as they ran the 3 + 7 km relay to place 9th overall while Olivier and Moïse ran individually the 10 km race, with Olivier running a solid 54 min race and Moïse lowering his personal best to 41 min.
In addition, we congratulate Frédéric for his excellent performance on the 24-km race, which he swallowed in 1 hour and 54 minutes!
After the No Finish Line, Cursa di Natale, and Monaco Run, the team looks forward to the next events (perhaps Nice’s Semi-Marathon in April, Aix-en-Provence and Menton in May). These will be opportunities to proudly wear white and red and seek again to reach the top, as Semper Ad Altum!
