To their Partner of the Monaco Yacht Cluster (MYC)
Monaco, May 13, 2020
In these challenging times, it becomes more and more important that IUM delivers highly relevant research insights to their valued partners, such as the Monaco Yacht Cluster.
This was the reasoning behind Dr. Phil Klaus’s and Dr. Annalisa Tarquini-Poli’s initiative to share their unique insights about what drives the behavior of yacht owners with the members of the Monaco Yacht Cluster, through a webinar on last Friday the 8th of May.
“Our research highlights a yacht owner’s decision-making process, explains how and why yacht owners choose one service provider over another. Based upon how well our groundbreaking research has been received throughout the yachting industry” Prof. Klaus explains.
Forty-three members of the Monaco Yacht Cluster attended the webinar, with many questions regarding the genuine expectations and customer purchasing process of yacht owners, as Dr. Phil Klaus and Dr. Annalisa Tarquini-Poli shared insights from their research with owners. Their sample represents purchases equivalent to the annual number of superyachts deliveries worldwide in 2018.
In their closing remarks, Espen Oeino and Prof. Klaus elaborated on new research areas and future trends in the yachting industry, such as industry consolidation, and business models addressing the needs of the next generation of owners.
All participants are confident that this meeting will be the kickoff to an even closer collaboration between the Monaco Yacht Cluster and IUM to manifest Monaco’s #1 position for yachting, yachting education, and research.
