Confirming Global Quality and Distinction in Business Education

Monaco, March 10th, 2021

AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of
Business (AACSB) announces that the International University of Monaco (IUM) has earned its Business School accreditation.

“AACSB Accreditation recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president, and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “We congratulate each of the newly accredited institutions for earning this respected honor.”

Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide.

For more than a century, AACSB accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education. Today, a total of 890 institutions across 58 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business.

“The International University of Monaco team is very proud to be accredited by AACSB International. This process, which has been underway for many years, has enabled us to move forward on a fantastic path of progress. On the strength of this prestigious recognition of its quality, IUM will continue its dynamic international development at the service of its students, its exceptional territory, its parent Group, and all its partners”, said Dean Muller, General Director.

“It is today an immense satisfaction for us to have achieved this milestone. We would like to thank our AACSB mentor, peer-review team members, and AACSB chief executives and staff for their invaluable guidance and support all along the way,” said Dr. Antonella Patras, Vice-Dean of IUM.

Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal focus, with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-reviewed evaluation. Schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards during this multi-year path. These standards require excellence in strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.

“The commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of a school’s dedication—not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community but to the higher education industry as a whole,” said Bryant. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of these eight institutions to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact, both locally and globally.”

“We achieved a great goal, thanks to our commitment and mentors! AACSB accreditation is our passport for new challenges,” said Prof. Mantovani.
