The Graduation Ceremony of the International University of Monaco was held on Saturday June 20th at the Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum

Two hundred students from over fifty countries around the world were present on Saturday June 20th at the Grimaldi Forum to celebrate the most important milestone of their studies: the Graduation ceremony 2015. The event took place in the Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum, famous congress & business center of the Principality. Families, friends, professors and classmates were all present to applaud their graduates. This year, students graduated from the Bachelors, Masters, MBA, and EMBA programs.

The ceremony this year welcomed a special guest: His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, who came to congratulate the class of 2015. H.S.H. Prince Albert II was present for the first half of the ceremony, in which the special prizes and awards were delivered to some students.

Special prizes and awards

A special recognition was given by the Fondation Flavien to student Nicholas Christou, Bachelor student, who ran 136km during the No Finish Line event back in November, and therefore helped raise money for the association Children & Future.
Following this recognition The IUM “Best School Spirit Award”, sponsored by the prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer Parmigiani-Fleurier, was won Laura Hazen, Bachelor student; she received a unique timepiece, engraved with her name and the IUM logo. This award aims to reward a student elected by his/her fellows, who has displayed an unwavering dedication to the core values of the school: respect for others, honesty, integrity, cultural awareness, team spirit and a strong sense of ethics.
Since many years now, IUM is proud of its special partnership with Société Générale Monaco that sponsors the Class Valedictorian prizes. Our nine valedictorians (Laura Hazen Undergraduate, Andrea Vacchino MSc in Finance, Stefan Lettner MSc Sport Business Management, Elizabeth Norman MSc in International Management, Robert Langereis MSc in Marketing, Elena Kuji MSc in Luxury Management, Reinalda Riezebos MSc in Sustainable Peace through Sport, Giulia Gualdi MBA, Herve Hoedrt EMBA) received a digital tablet to reward their academic achievements throughout their studies at IUM.
Last but not least, for the fourth year Alumnus, Michael Bouchard (MBA class of 2007) offered a check of € 1.000 for the “IUM Monaco Outreach Award” to a student who significantly contributed to a volunteering project within the IUM and Monegasque community. The winner of this special prize this year is Carolin Bode, Bachelor student. Carolin has been awarded the prize for her initiative in creating the association TwoHelp, aimed to raise money to fund education for unprivileged children in Africa.

Diploma deliveries and honors

The second half of the ceremony was highlighted by the diploma deliveries by cohorts, along with the recognition of students who distinguished themselves with honors. The ceremony was followed by a celebratory cocktail offered to families and friends in the foyer of the Grimaldi Forum. Champagne glasses and a lot of picture taking ended the afternoon festivities.

In the evening, black ties and gowns took over the suits and cocktail dresses for the final celebrations in the sparkling ambiance of the gorgeous Hotel Meridien Beach Plaza. Many tears of joy, laughter and memories of a lifetime will be forever pinned on our new Alumni’s hearths.
