The month of November IUM recently played host to none other than renowned researcher and consultant Dr. Julian Alvarez who was presenting a lecture to students on Serious Games and Game Technologies. He talked to students of the course Fundamentals of communication and advertising which is overseen by Professor MN. Jauffret-Cervetti. He mesmerized the students with the technology behind Advergames, Edumarket games and gamification among other others. The captivating talk was eagerly awaited and attended by faculty members who were all impressed. We look forward to his next visit and just in case you missed the lecture look out for some of the games like Dafur is dying or visit the website.

Very good article! I found the presentation of Dr. Julian Alvarez about the serious game and game technologies very interesting.I was particularly surprised by this concept and especially when he talked about the first serious game in the USA « Armerica’s army », it is a video game war which recruits the best players to become a soldier in the US Army… I think it is very ridiculous to recruit this way. What do you think about that ?
