We recently met with Virginia Benetti, Italian, and student in the MSc in Finance program, Private Banking and Wealth Management specialization.
How did you come about the idea of studying abroad?
As a student of languages, studying abroad was something that had always intrigued me. The idea of being exposed to an international environment with people from all around the word was a positive value-added to my studies.
Why did you choose Monaco, IUM, and this program?
I chose Monaco because of its uniqueness: a few squared kilometers, numerous nationalities, and a dynamic banking and luxury industry. IUM gave me not only the opportunity to access the Monaco job market but also, thanks to its high standards, provided me with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the international job market.
What are your key takeaways from this program?
Master’s in finance students enjoy small classes, making it possible to establish excellent communication and relationship with professors.
Also, we have the opportunity to go beyond the theoretical framework and apply it to concrete contextual situations through applied projects and practical works, the best possible preparation for a challenging and tough career in the financial services industry.
What are your plans for the future? And what advice would you give to people who decide to do this master?
My plan for the future is to stay in Monaco and gain extra experience in asset allocation.
A piece of advice for people deciding to do this master would be to take advantage of the networking possibilities and make the most out of it.
