IUM Graduation Ceremony 2012
The 2012 Graduation Ceremony of the International University of Monaco was held on Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum.
At 2 pm on Saturday, June 23rd, IUM’s Graduation Ceremony began. Seventy four students from 34 countries received their diplomas in the stunning Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum. This year, the students graduated from the BSBA, MBA and EMBA cohorts. Students in Masters degree programs were not “on stage”, as they will complete their degrees after having done a six month internship, from July to December 2012. They all will be back in Monaco in June 2013 to officially finalize their studies.
IUM prizes reward academic achievements but also ethical values
The Class Valedictorian was offered a gift from IUM as well as a bank check from Société Générale Monaco. This year, Anncathrin Klein, BSBA student, and Clyde Johnston, MBA student, achieved the highest GPA in their program.
Michael Bouchard, an American 2007 MBA alumnus, offered a check of € 1.000 in a so called “IUM Monaco Outreach Award” to a student who significantly contributed to a volunteering project within the IUM and Monegasque community. This year, Marine Giannini, BSBA student, was the lucky winner of this prize.
The “Best School Spirit Award”, sponsored by the prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer Parmigiani-Fleurier, was given to the student, elected by his/her fellows, who has displayed an unwavering dedication to the core values of the school: respect for others, honesty, integrity, cultural awareness, team spirit and a strong sense of ethics. This year, Valérie Maselis, MBA student, received a unique timepiece, engraved with her name, and valued at € 10.000.
A unique moment that neither students nor families will never forget
After the traditional cap throwing ritual, marking the end of the ceremony, students, families and guests were invited to the wonderful terrace of the Café Llorca overlooking the sea, where champagne and sweets were served.
At 8 pm, all the invitees joined the Gala Dinner at the Méridien Beach Plaza. Shining in a sparkling ambiance of Champagne, evening gowns and glamour, the Graduation Class of 2012 then continued to celebrate their new life at the famous nightspot Jimmy’z.
Every year, the IUM Graduation celebration -stirring, solemn and held within Monaco’s most glamorous venues -is a source of pride, excitement, and happiness for families and friends from around the world who come to share this moment with our students.
