What's the difference between the 3-year BSBA and the 4-year program In response to the changes in the European education system and recommendations made in the Bologna Agreement, IUM has developed a concentrated Undergraduate degree program which can be completed in 5 terms. The new Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) is a 240 ECTS credit, 120 US credit program concentrated format which allows the student to complete a full 4-year degree program in 3-years.

On successful completion of the BSBA students are fully prepared to enter the workplace. The program's distinctive feature, however, centers on its ability to provide thorough preparation for students to continue their studies at the specialized master's level: the 3-Plus-1 factor. When they graduate on schedule, 3-Plus-1 allows students to complete their bachelor's and master's degree in four years.   Top

Is it possible to transfer from my university to IUM? And if so, what are the requirements? Yes, IUM accepts transfer students into its Undergraduate Program. The University uses rigorous criteria and processes to evaluate undergraduate level transfer credits. There are minimum and maximum credit transfer rules so please check the transfer information on the Undergraduate Programs webpage.

Unfortunately, we do not accept transfer of credit for IUM graduate programs. Students may apply to the department to have courses waived if they have already been completed.  Top

What makes the MonacoMBA so unique? Three things stand out:
    - The MBA curriculum;
    - Small class size;
    - International makeup of the community.
We have students from over 48 nationalities on campus, and in Monaco, over 125 nationalities are represented in a very small area. This makes for a very dynamic, fascinating environment in which to live and to learn.
We also have an average class size of approximately 40 students in the MBA program. The students get to know each other, and the professors - both in class and out of class. This fosters a much closer working relationship, and also gives students a chance to really build stronger communication and collaboration skills.
The class size in the elective courses (Spring Semester) generally average about 12 to 15 students per class. So students get direct input into their own areas of interest.
The curriculum has also been adapted to strengthen the emphasis on cross cultural communications and collaboration skills, while adding in some new electives and areas of specialization.   Top

Give us an example of how a student could tailor his/her program? Lets say a student wants to start his or her own business in Monaco. They could take a course from Finance on raising Venture Capital, another course in Marketing on research, a course on the interrelationship between business, government, and finance, and a fourth course on multi cultural communications or any other elective from one of the specializations.
Our goal is to allow students to build strong General Management skills, while also getting a personalized education designed to meet their career needs.   Top

What's the GMAT exam? The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Council) measures basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that you have developed over a long period of time in your education and work. It does NOT measure your:

    - Subjective qualities-such as motivation, creativity, and interpersonal skills   Top

Is it expensive to live in Monaco? Monaco itself is very expensive. The good news is that students can live 10 - 15 minutes away (walking or via bus) in France very reasonably.
Typically, we suggest that students budget around 750 to 1000 euros per month for an apartment, then another 500 euros for food, transportation, and other non-academic related expenses. A budget of around 1250 - 1500 euros per month seems reasonable. Students can, of course, spend more or less - apartment prices range from around 500 to 2000 euros and more!
We usually tell students to plan on spending around 13 - 18,000 euros for a year - this seems to be reasonable for most students. Some get by with a budget of less than 10,000, while others spend more than 20,000 euros.   Top

What's the average price for housing? It's approximately 500 to 950 euros per month for one person. It depends where you live and if you live on your own, or share an apartment with someone. If you live and pay rent in France, it is possible to receive a housing subsidy from the French Government under certain conditions.   Top

What kind of housing service do you provide? The Director of Student Services (contact her at nfevre@monaco.edu) has a network of apartments, and property owners that she works with in many locations, in different price ranges. Students will typically contact her several months before coming to Monaco and will usually have their accommodations worked out by the day they arrive.  Top
