Creating A Company
IUM is uniquely located in one of the most entrepreneurial centers in Europe and provides numerous opportunities for students to set up their own business.
IUM offers specific courses related to setting up a business. As part of the curriculum, all students are required to conduct market research and to devise a business plan that puts into practice the concepts and methods learned in class. Students who major in Entrepreneurship work under the guidance of a professor and a mentor on developing a hands-on, real life feasibility study, financial projections and a full business plan.
IUM also organizes specialized lectures and seminars on Monaco business law which aim to introduce young entrepreneurs to the major legal, tax and business issues involved in establishing and maintaining a company in Monaco. (Executive Series Monaco Business Law).
Lecturers are selected from the Monaco business community who are recognized as experts in their field. In addition, prospective entrepreneurs enjoy the opportunity of networking with successful business professionals and accomplished entrepreneurs through various social gatherings organized between IUM and the community.
NeXt Generation Entrepreneur Forum
Organized by IUM students, the NeXt Generation Entrepreneur Forum (www.ngefmonaco.org) is an annual meeting point for young people who nurture entrepreneurial ambitions.
A series of conferences, debates and social events allow attendants to interact with successful entrepreneurs, to understand how to build on a successful idea, and to meet with and present their projects to potential investors. Increasingly, students are invited to "create their own professional future", to become entrepreneurs, and invent something new. However, little real support is readily available to those aspiring innovators.
The NeXt Generation Entrepreneur Forum fills this gap, with the ambition to create a network able to provide concrete tools and useful advice for those who are trying to fulfill their objectives. The NeXt Generation Entrepreneur Forum is a non-profit event, organized by a team of young people, for a young and international audience, with the logistic and tutorial support of the International University of Monaco.
This year, the NGEF will be held in the Grimaldi Forum, from May 6th to 7th, 2010. More info at ngefteam2009@monaco.edu
IUM students can also develop close relationships with the Monaco Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (www.mvca.asso.mc).
